I'm Yang Liu, a Ph.D. from Fudan University with joint doctoral training at the University of Toronto (Computer Science), and a B.S. from Nanjing University (Automation). I have held visiting positions, internships, and research roles at institutions including the University of British Columbia, Duke Kunshan University, and the Vector Institute. I maintain long-term academic collaborations with scholars from MIT, Harvard University, Imperial College London, the University of Toronto, and the University of Hong Kong.
My research focuses on artificial intelligence and its applications in intelligent transportation and autonomous systems, with particular emphasis on embodied perception and world models for autonomous driving, as well as multi-agent LLMs in healthcare. I have published over 20 papers in top-tier journals and conferences in computer science and AI applications, including ACM CSUR (IF=28), IEEE TIP, TII, TNNLS, TIE, NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, and ACM MM. My work has been cited over 1,800 times, with papers selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers. I have filed over 10 invention patents and have been recognized with honors including the Pujiang AI Pioneer Award and Fanhai Scholar. I also serve as Deputy Secretary-General of the AI Committee of the Shanghai Creativity Society and as a board member of INSAI.
I have served as Special Session Chair for flagship signal processing conferences (IEEE ICASSP, ICME), Area Chair for leading computer vision conferences (IEEE ICIP, BMVC), and Program Committee member for top-tier conferences including NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, AAAI, and ICLR. Together with several IEEE Fellows, I have organized tutorials and special forums at conferences such as PRCV, IEEE ICIP, and IEEE ICME. I serve as Guest Editor for the JCR Q1 journal IEEE TCSS and reviewer for prestigious international journals including IEEE TPAMI, TIP, TNNLS, TIFS, TMM, and TCSVT.
