YunYun Li obtained her doctoral degree in 2011 in natural science in Augsburg University in Germany with Prof. Peter Hänggi on the topic noise assistant transport. After her PhD she conducted post-doctoral research at HongKong Baptist University. Since 2013, she jointed Tongji University as assistant Professor in the School of Physics Science and Engineering, and then promoted as Associate Professor in 2016. Her scientific research falls mostly under the area of stochastic dynamics, focus on how noise can be utilized in non-equilibrium systems.
1, Brownian motors: use noise which is the thermal fluctuation to drive particles away from equilibrium and generate the directed motion. How much energy can be havest, Where is the limitation of the energy is the key question in the field of statistical physics.
2, Smart active matter: We are living in the age of miniaturization, since it has been the ability to fabricate, manipulate, and integrate matter on the very small scale that has ushered in today’s information age. We study the dynamics of motile particles at the individual and collective level to controlling matter transport at the micro- and nanoscales, to understanding how matter self-organizes into macroscopic, functional structures (like organs in living creatures).
Yunyun Li is co-author of over 50 Web of science papers and the PI for 4 national grants from NSFC, one ministerial fund and one fund from the University. Meanwhile, she is the team leader and participate for 3 national grants. Yunyun Li has been supervisor for 1 Postdoc, 5 PhD, 8 master students and 10 bachelor students’ theses.
