Tao Zhuo, Lecturer in the Department of German Language and Literature at Tongji University's School of Foreign Languages, holds a Ph.D. and serves as a Master's thesis supervisor. She is also Secretary of the Shanghai Branch of the German Language Association (GfdS). Previously, she taught Chinese at the State Language Institute of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and served as a visiting scholar at the University of Bremen and the University of Bochum. Her primary research focuses include: discourse linguistics, multimodal discourse analysis, post-editing of culturally specific items, second language acquisition, and cross-cultural communication between Chinese and German. She has published one monograph, two translations, one textbook, and two teaching guides and supplements. She has authored nearly 20 articles in prominent journals such as Literaturstraße and Jahrbuch für Internationale Germanistik. She has led or participated in nearly 20 projects at national, provincial/ministerial, and university levels. She serves as a peer reviewer for the Academic Degrees Center of the Ministry of Education.
