Dr. Kai Chen is currently a Special-Term Research Professor at the School of Physical Science and Engineering, Tongji University. After obtaining his Ph.D. from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Texas Center for Superconductivity, University of Houston. He joined Tongji University in August 2025.
His research explores exciting frontiers in condensed matter physics, focusing on intriguing topological phases, novel nonreciprocal effects in superconductivity, and the behavior of topological states in photonic and acoustic systems.
